Mission

To heal broken lives from the inside out through faith-based transformational housing communities

Background Statement

Providence Network (PN) began in the 1980s when a group of Christian business leaders partnered with an 18-year veteran of urban ministry to serve people with lives characterized by chronic poverty, homelessness, substance abuse, and despair. Our programs address complex physical and emotional issues through a “life-on-life” model that blends professional services and mentoring in a home-like atmosphere with 24/7 live-in staff.

PN currently operates three transitional housing programs, known as FirstStep homes, as well as three affordable housing apartment buildings, known as NextStep communities. Through this unique, two-tiered model, PN has become recognized as an agent of change to lives, neighborhoods, and communities.

After more than 30 years, PN remains driven by a singular vision: To develop communities of transformed individuals and families living out healthy lifestyles characterized by reconciliation, economic self-sufficiency, and spiritual wholeness. The ripple effect of this work replaces a generational cycle of poverty and abuse with positive physical and mental health, the tools to succeed, and hope for the future.
