Mission Statement

The mission of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is to empower people to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health by providing high quality health services, comprehensive sex education, and strategic advocacy.

Organization History

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) is one of the largest Planned Parenthood affiliates in the nation with 24 health centers across our four state affiliate (Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming). Since 1916, we have been dedicated to the communities we serve by providing a broad range of services and working to improve the quality and continuity of client care because building healthy communities is an essential component of what we do.

Testimonials

A Colorado patient: "Planned Parenthood saved my life. Twenty years ago when I was in my 20's, a nurse at Planned Parenthood felt a lump in my thyroid during a routine physical. That lump turned out to be cancerous. Because it was found before it spread, I was able to continue living a healthy productive life. Now, with young adult daughters of my own, I continue to support Planned Parenthood in their efforts to provide women with safe health care. With your support, who knows how many women you will save...."

A PPRM patient...
"I'm a mother of two young boys. I rely heavily on Planned Parenthood's services for annual check-ups and all my other health needs - through college, graduate school, my early years in the workforce, and all the way to today. In fact, over many years during which I could not afford health insurance, Planned Parenthood was indispensable to my good health and wellbeing, even billing me on a sliding scale so that I paid only what I could afford.
Without Planned Parenthood, I would not get all-important yearly screenings, check-ups, or contraception. Planned Parenthood offers an invaluable service, especially to women and families with financial constraints, and one that contributes to my good health today."

From rural Colorado:
"I, like many Coloradans, live in a small rural area. Without Planned Parenthood there are no options for affordable comprehensive women's health care. As one who was diagnosed with cancer by a nurse practitioner at Planned Parenthood I can attest that they provide exceptional care for all who enter their doors, regardless of health insurance. Planned Parenthood gives health and support to our communities."

A 15 year old student attending a sex education class:
"I learned that everybody is responsible for their OWN sexual relations and choices."

A public school teacher:
"Every time the Responsible Sex Education Institute comes to present in my high school health classes I know that the kids will gain valuable information from someone who is knowledgeable, engaging, comfortable and inclusive. Students leave feeling valued and informed and they know where to go for accurate information. The Responsible Sex Education Institute knows how to teach all aspects of a comprehensive sex ed class for the 21st century (including consent, digital and other influences, abstinence, birth control, STIs, healthy communication and healthy relationships)."
