Our concerts and community outreach will continue to support our mission of bringing high quality orchestral performances to our local audience while providing opportunities for performance and musical growth for local musicians. The upcoming season will feature a free concert in the fall to remember those we've lost this past 18 months and to inspire hope for the future. In addition, we will collaborate in the spring with the Colorado Saints Chorale performing Brahms' Requiem and we will reprise our family holiday concert "Sounds of the Season" in December as an outreach to children and donate all proceeds to a local nonprofit.
Based on results from our post-concert surveys and attendance assessments, we added a Sunday matinee performance for the Holiday concert to accommodate more seniors and children and our family holiday concert "Sounds of the Season" designed to be shorter and with lower ticket prices to accommodate families with young children.
We continue to look for ways to introduce the public to lesser known classical music and provide opportunities to learn more about orchestral music. Examples of how we have done this in the past include our concert for Black History Month 2017 entitled "Celebrating Black Composers" and our "Works by Women Composers" concert in 2020.
We have formed an outreach committee with the express purpose of finding areas where we can encourage music education among students. We have already made a donation to a local Parker high school music program.
We also:
- Increased recruitment of strong players in key areas
- Brought in paid soloists
- Scheduled more collaborations with local choirs like the Colorado Saints Chorale
