Colorado Gives Day Sweepstakes Rules

Southwest Airlines® is putting their heart into the Colorado community. To celebrate the largest day of giving in Colorado, donors are encouraged to support their favorite nonprofits.  

Make a donation of $100 or more to a single nonprofit on ColoradoGivesDay.org, December 5, and you're automatically entered into the prize drawing for a roundtrip airline ticket on Southwest Airlines.  One winner will be randomly selected each hour, with a bonus prize winner drawn after midnight from all donors who gave $100 or more to a single nonprofit during the 24-hour period on December. 5.

General rules for Colorado Gives Day Sweepstakes:

To be eligible, you must: 

  • be a Colorado resident.
  • be age 19 or over.
  • donate $100 or more to a single nonprofit on ColoradoGives.org on Dec. 5 00:00:01 - 11:59:59.
  • Colorado Gives Foundation is running and managing the sweepstakes. 
  • Southwest is the prize provider giving 25 Southwest Airlines’ domestic roundtrip tickets to Colorado Gives Foundation. Total value: $10,000.  
  • Only one prize per email address is permitted.
  • Winners will be randomly drawn from all donors who donate at least $100, not including transaction fees, in the prior hour, with a final bonus prize drawn after midnight from all qualifying donors. 
  • Winners will be announced hourly on Dec. 5 and posted by Dec. 31, 2023, on ColoradoGives.org and on its owned social media platforms. Winners will be notified by email by Dec. 31, 2023. 
  • The unique identifier for donors is the email they use to make the donation. 
  • Donors must use a valid email address to be eligible.
  • Each donor receives ONE (1) entry per hour for 24 hours on Dec. 5 regardless of the number of donations they make during that hour.
  • Donors are eligible each hour on Dec. 5 if they make additional donations over $100 or more and meet eligibility requirements, but they can only win one voucher per email address.
  • The prize is one round-trip ticket on Southwest Airlines domestic service (value $400).
  • Taxes and additional fees are the responsibility of the winner.
  • Entries are accepted during the sweepstakes period as announced online or via email.  The sweepstakes has a defined period of time for entry.  Entries are time-stamped from the time the entry/donation is made on ColoradoGives.org.
  • Prize is for individuals only. A valid email address is required for notification purposes.
  • Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash value. If the winner declines the prize or it is unclaimed for 5 days, the next eligible person on the list will be notified sequentially until the prize is accepted. No other prizes will be offered.  
  • Winners will be randomly drawn and notified by a Colorado Gives Foundation no later than Dec. 31, 2023. 
  • Winning names will be announced on Colorado Gives Foundation’s digital platforms, including social channels and may or may not be used in marketing efforts.
  • Prizes valued at over $600 will be reported as taxable income, in accordance with IRS regulations.
  • Odds are determined by the number of entries.  Multiple entries within the same hour are void and only the first entry is counted.
  • Employees and board members of Colorado Gives Foundation and their families are ineligible.
  • Sweepstakes are void where prohibited.
  • The winner agrees to participate in the promotion of the event or gift won as a prize; including, but not limited to, the use of his or her name, photograph, or likeness.
  • Colorado Gives Foundation assumes no responsibility for any property loss, damage, or personal injury resulting from any prize won.  
  • Results of the drawing are final--there are no substitutions or exchanges or cash redemption allowed.  
  • Colorado Gives Foundation is not responsible for entries that are not received due to issues with internet or telephone access.
  • Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States only.
  • This prize is non-transferrable.

Rules and Regulations for e-pass


1. Winners will receive two, one-time use Southwest flight e-pass that can be redeemed for travel on Southwest[CM1]  Airlines. By accepting and/or redeeming the Southwest flight e-pass(es), you acknowledge the content of these Southwest flight e-pass Rules and Regulations and agree to abide by them. Southwest Airlines reserves the right to change the Southwest flight e-pass Rules and Regulations at any time.

2. The Southwest flight e-pass will bear the date of issue and the date of expiration. Expiration dates will not be extended and travel must be completed on or before the expiration date. Southwest flight e-passes are void after the expiration date printed on them.

3. The Southwest flight e-pass is valid for one-way travel on Southwest-operated, published, scheduled service in the United States, its territories and its possessions, including Puerto Rico. The Southwest flight e-pass is not valid on interline or codeshare service.

4. The Southwest flight e-pass is non-refundable and is not redeemable for cash or credit. The Southwest flight e-pass will not be replaced for any reason, including, without limitation, if lost, stolen, or fraudulently used. The Southwest flight e-pass is non-transferrable and cannot be sold to a third party. Sale, auction, or re-tendering of the Southwest flight e-pass for money or otherwise is strictly prohibited. The Southwest flight e-pass may not be used for promotional purposes unless previously approved by Southwest. Any suspected fraud, misrepresentation, misuse, abuse or violation of the Southwest flight e-pass Rules and Regulations may result in cancellation of the Southwest flight e-pass(es).

5. Each individual Southwest flight e-pass is valid for one-way travel. Two flight e-passes are required to book roundtrip travel.

6. The recipient of a Southwest flight e-pass is required to be nineteen (19) years of age or older and a legal U.S. resident. However, the recipient of a Southwest flight e-pass may arrange travel for another person if done without selling or bartering this Southwest flight e-pass.

7. Air transportation by Southwest Airlines Co. is subject to Southwest Airlines’ Passenger Contract of Carriage(“Contract of Carriage”), the terms of which are here in incorporated by reference. Incorporated terms include but are not limited to:

  1. Limits of liability for personal injury or death of Passengers.
  2. Limits on liability for loss, damage to, or delayed delivery of passenger baggage, including fragile, perishable, and certain other irreplaceable and/or high value goods or contents, as specified in the Contract of Carriage. Baggage liability for covered items (except wheelchairs or other assistive devices as provided in 14 CFR §382.131) is limited to $3,500 per fare paying Passenger unless excess valuation coverage is purchased.
  3. Claims restrictions, including time periods in which a Passenger must file a claim or bring an action against Southwest for its acts or omissions or those of its agents.
  4. Rights of Southwest to change terms of the Contract of Carriage.
  5. Rules on reservations, check-in time, refusal to carry, and smoking.
  6. Rights of Southwest and limitations concerning delay or failure to perform service, including schedule changes, substitution of alternate air carrier or aircraft, and rerouting.
  7. Overbooking: If a Passenger is denied boarding due to an oversale, has obtained his/her boarding pass and is present and available for boarding at the departure gate area at least ten minutes before scheduled departure, with few exceptions, such Passenger is entitled to compensation.
    Passengers may inspect the full text of each incorporated term of the Contract of Carriage at Southwest’s airport or city ticket counters, and Passengers have the right, upon request at any location where Southwest’s tickets are sold, to receive free of charge by mail or other delivery service the full text of each such incorporated term.
