Evidence of Program's Success

Outdoor Lab's week-long residential program is a transformational form of experiential education for Jefferson County students. The fully immersive program often fosters profound personal development for the 6th graders, high school leaders, and interns that Outdoor Lab reaches.

Outdoor Lab's programming goes beyond the lessons in outdoor skills, natural history, communication, teamwork, and leadership that are part of nearly any outdoor experience. At Outdoor Lab, there is an underlying process through which the experience is rendered personally meaningful in the students' lives. Thanks to committed supporters like you, this extraordinary experience can remain accessible to all Jefferson County 6th graders.

Students return to their home classrooms with a better understanding of their current STEM program, prepared to move on to the next level. Outdoor Lab brings children to the wilderness and returns young adults who are stewards of themselves, others, and the world around them. More than 95% of high school students in Jeffco, when polled, named Outdoor Lab is one of their top 5 school experiences in their K-12 career.
