VOA Colorado helps individuals, families, veterans, and seniors build lives stable enough to no longer need us. Through housing, nutrition, community, and volunteer-powered programs across the state, VOA Colorado measures success not by how many people come through its doors, but by how many reach a day they no longer have to.

What Makes Volunteers of America Colorado Special

Volunteers of America Colorado believes unique challenges require unique and thoughtful solutions. We create specialized programs to meet the critical needs of the communities we serve—meaning our services across Colorado look different because each community is distinct. Our programs include:

Meals on Wheels: VOA Colorado is the largest provider of Meals-on-Wheels in the state - serving more than 1,900,000 seniors in eight counties.*
Senior Housing: VOA Colorado is one of the largest providers of affordable senior housing in the state.
Veterans Services: VOA Colorado served more than 2,000 veterans and their families; housed 367 veterans and prevented 377 veteran evictions.*
Transitional Housing: VOA Colorado provided transitional housing for 103 households (349 children and adults) exiting homelessness*
Shelter/Safety: VOA Colorado operates the only 24/7/365 shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in southwest Colorado. The next closest shelter to the Durango Community Shelter is more than four hours away. The Southwest Safehouse in Durango is the only confidential location safehouse serving victims of domestic abuse and other violent crimes.

Today, as one of Colorado's largest human service agencies, VOA Colorado transforms lives.

Wherever VOA Colorado goes, we combine relationship-building, volunteers, and quality services to lift and support our neighbor’s efforts to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.
