Vail Symposium

A nonprofit organization

The Vail Symposium is a grassroots, non-profit organization that has been part of the life and history of Vail since 1971. Our mission is to provide educational programs for the Vail Valley community that are thought-provoking, diverse and affordable.

In weekly programs during the winter and summer seasons, Vail Symposium stages present the best and brightest minds from around the world on a wide variety of subjects including geopolitics, environmental awareness, consciousness, hot topics, health & wellness, and the Conversations On Controversial Issues series moderated by humanities scholar and historian Clay Jenkinson.

In celebration of America's 250th birthday, we will present an array of programs illuminating our history (like the development of accents in America and how to understand the US Constitution in the modern era) and exploring our future (like education in America and America's role in global energy policy). Mark your calendars for special events on June 29 with Judy Woodruff, on July 6 with NASA, and on August 25 with Doris Kearns Goodwin!

Vail Symposium hosts TEDxVail! Your donations designated for TEDxVail will support their programming including the signature event organized and featuring Eagle County students.

TEDxVail Youth: Connected By Curiosity takes over Battle Mountain High School on Sunday, March 15 featuring over 10 TEDx Talks, local food, social spaces with partner organizations, and opportunities to engage your own curiosity in our community!

Testimonials

"I was already familiar with the books of the speakers whose programs (Living At Your Peak) I attended, but it was very helpful for me to compare their presentations with their written work. I was also happy to see so many people attending, including friends, but also many people I did not know would have an interest in these topics. I feel a greater sense of support and belonging in this community as a result."

"So I am deeply grateful to you for the opportunity to attend these events locally."

"Bringing this information forward to share with interested and open minded individuals."

"Interesting topics not easily available locally."

"The inspiring speakers you are able to bring to this valley, which creates a wave of consciousness/energy desperately needed in these troubled times, even (and perhaps especially) in this valley. It is gratifying to know that your organization is supportive of self-transformation; the more we spread the word and encouragement, the better for us, the environment and the planet! You are to be congratulated for the bold step in this direction."
