Background Statement
The Colorado Choir and Chorus Organization was founded in 1976 by Randolph "Casey" Jones, who at that time was Director of the Adams State College Choir in Alamosa, Colorado.

The choir is primarily an a cappella ensemble, but it does perform accompanied works, as well as occasional major works with orchestra. Membership varies between 60-75 musicians who perform 6 major concerts in December, March and May.

In its early history, The Colorado Choir performed over 50 concerts with the Denver Symphony Orchestra, and in 2001 it realized the millennium celebration performance of its American premiere of the Requiem of Reconciliation.

After 33 years of conducting inspiring choral music and the production of eight CD's, Casey retired in 2009. He was succeeded by Ms. Kelly Parmenter, one of his former students, and a member and soloist of the choir since 1980.

Since assuming leadership in 2009, Kelly has led the group to sing with the Denver Pops Orchestra, The Denver Brass, the Arapahoe High School Concert Choir, the Heritage High School Concert Choir, and at The Denver Zoo Lights and Denver Blossom of Lights at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary season, The Colorado Choir continues to evolve as an important part of the community by providing classical choral literature through its concert schedule and other public appearances.
