$20,000 Goal

Some of our goals for the upcoming 2025 year:

  • Assisted Technology for Low-Vision Clients: We aim to acquire more touch screen laptops and other assistive technology to enhance accessibility and independence for our low-vision clients.

  • Dog Training & Care Supplies: To support our dog training programs, we are raising funds for essential supplies such as high-value treats, in-training vests, leashes, and leaders. These items are crucial for both our clients and their dogs during training sessions.

  • Transport & Insurance for Staff: Funding is needed to purchase transport vehicles and cover associated insurance costs. Currently, our staff rely on personal vehicles to travel to various work sites, and this would alleviate the burden on them.

  • Staff & Client Training Programs: We seek to provide additional certifications and training opportunities, such as pet CPR/first aid certification, CCPDT certification, and AKC certification. This will further enhance the skill sets of both staff and clients, ensuring better care and service delivery.

Thanks so much for helping! :)

Giving Activity

Mission

Soul Dogs, Inc. provides behavioral, habilitative, rehabilitative, and professional development services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities and autism. Our vision is to provide ongoing documentation and evidence of the power of the human-animal relationship in healing trauma.

We focus our services for those in the IDD system. However, we are an inclusive program and welcome individuals from the community to participate in our classes. We hope this therapy will one day be funded by states providing IDD services.

Background Statement

Soul Dogs, Inc. was founded by Chris Anderson, a therapist with over 45 years of experience. Driven by her vision of using animals as healing agents for individuals struggling with trauma, Chris established Soul Dogs with a mission to support the underserved. Since its inception in August 2019, Soul Dogs has continued to grow, developing programs that focus on people with disabilities and trauma. Today, our offerings include a Dog Training Academy, behavior therapy, supported employment, mentorship, and community-based dog training.
