ReadRerSobriety House, Colorado’s oldest licensed substance use disorder treatment center, has been a lifeline for people seeking hope and healing since 1967. SoHo provides affordable, compassionate, and effective care for adults facing addiction, regardless of their ability to pay. We serve people who would otherwise have no access to treatment, including those on medicaid and our priority populations: women with dependent children, pregnant women, people who use drugs by injection, and veterans.

This year, Sobriety House is proud to partner with The FullCircle Program to show that recovery is better together. FullCircle provides free, community-based recovery support for teens and families through peer groups, family meetings, and sober social events, helping young people find joy and purpose in sobriety. By joining forces, we’re helping ensure that every person, whether a teen, parent, or adult, can find connection, purpose, and lasting recovery.

When you give this Colorado Gives Day, your donation will be split 50/50 between Sobriety House and FullCircle Program, helping both organizations expand access to recovery services for individuals and families who need it most.

Thanks to our friends at Savvy Construction,  all donations directed to Sobriety House will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $5,000, before December 10!

If you give through this joint campaign, half your donation will still support FullCircle, and the Sobriety House portion will be matched. That means every dollar designated for SoHo is doubled—amplifying your impact for adults in recovery while still supporting youth and families through FullCircle.

The Difference You Will Make

Through your donation, you are making lifelong recovery possible for someone coming from unimaginable circumstances. Your personal sacrifice today, ensures we are able to continue providing extensive recovery services to those who would otherwise not have access. Together with FullCircle, we’re helping individuals and families rediscover connection, joy, and purpose.

“Most of my 20’s were consumed with addiction in all of it’s tortuous forms. However four months before my 30th birthday I found Sobriety House. My life improved daily with the continued help of the staff and its community. I recently celebrated 4 years sober. Sobriety House provided a home for me to actually heal in and for that I will always be grateful. When I look back at my recovery journey I now see that the steps are easy when you feel supported. Sobriety House and my counselor Allison were, and still are, my support.” – Kalena

"My life prior to Soho was an uncontrollable mess due to my alcoholism. My life has changed from a terrible disaster into a newfound love for myself. Soho provided the tools and influence to aid in my recovery. I will have 2 years sober in August and would not have been able to be where I'm at without Sobriety House." -Talia

Mission

Sobriety House, Inc. is a state licensed, nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment center dedicated to offering high quality and effective services through an extensive continuum of care to support clients in lifelong recovery, regardless of ability to pay.

Background Statement

Sobriety House was founded in 1967 and began as a mission to provide a low-cost, dignified setting for individuals seeking recovery from alcoholism. The founder was driven by a desire to address the widespread harm caused by addiction, offering a safe home, access to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings, counseling, job support, and a compassionate community.

In 1978, Sobriety House expanded its capacity to include female clients by acquiring the independent program Stepping Stone, increasing its capacity from 36 to 50 clients.

Nearly a decade later, Sobriety House received two additional houses, adjacent to its original property on Acoma Street, through a donation. Later that year, the organization acquired an apartment building in Denver, providing graduates of the program with sober living accommodations for up to nine months.

In 2007, Sobriety House merged with the Phoenix Concept, further expanding its services. Though the Phoenix Concept building has since been sold, Sobriety House has continued to grow and improve its capacity to serve those in need.

In April 2024, Sobriety House opened a new property in Lakewood, and by mid-2025, the organization expanded its main campus with the purchase of an additional property on Acoma Street. These expansions allow Sobriety House to serve more people, a crucial need as the demand for addiction recovery services is greater than ever.
