COLORADO ONLY RECYCLES 16% OF ITS WASTE
Here's how your funding helps us to make an impact in Colorado...

💚 Our Main Objective for Donations made this Gives Day 💚
This Gives Day, we are asking for our donors' support for items we need to reduce our event costs and increase our sustainability. Think of this like our wish list! The following are some examples of things that we would be using donations for:

  • Portable coffee brewer ($110)
  • Reusable event kit for 60: plates, coffee cups, silverware, napkins, etc. ($100)
  • Signage: Pop-ups, backdrops, etc. ($2,000)
  • Summit for Recycling conference supplies ($500)
  • Additional Staff/Fellow/Intern ($8,000)

Donors who support will have their name or organization logo added onto our portable coffee brewer for recognition of their donation. Your organization could literally fuel Recycle Colorado, one cup at a time or one pot at a time, how fun is that?! ☕️

Donations will continue to support our ongoing progress and programs:

♻️ Pass state policies which support recycling, remanufacturing and reuse, such as battery stewardship for small and medium format batteries, the Colorado Circular Communities Enterprise fund (C3), Producer Responsibility for Packaging and Paper, the Circular Economy Development Center, and renew the waste tire rebate program. ♻️ Hire our new Executive Director, Brandy Moe, to propel our programs forward. Provide our CSU fellow, Dani O'Connor, the opportunity to connect with members on organics diversion.

Mission

Recycle Colorado is committed to advancing infrastructure, end markets and state and local policies in waste reduction, recovery and diversion.

Background Statement

Recycle Colorado, originally known as the Colorado Association for Recycling, was established in 1991. We remained relatively small until 1998, when we were infused by a group of recycling stakeholders from around the state. Through successful fiscal management, coupled with strong volunteer involvement and commitment, the then 20-member association with an annual budget of $4,000 has developed into an effective organization with an annual budget of more than $350,000 and more than 200 members, including cities, counties, large and small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals. From an all-volunteer group and three-member board of directors, we've grown into a member organization with two paid staff and a 15-member board of directors.

Recycle Colorado continues to be a recycling and composting leader for the state of Colorado. We have since expanded our councils and committees to seven unique groups, increased our engagement at events, and have been engaged in recycling and composting policy efforts to help Colorado reach it's waste diversion goals.
