PBS12 had humble beginnings in a garage in Broomfield, Colorado. Its founders were a coalition of citizens, activists and media organizers who saw an opportunity to broaden discourse in local television by creating a new, more community-oriented, globally conscious station.
The station was founded on these principles:
– Serving diverse populations.
– Providing vigorous community-affairs debate.
– Giving voice to independent, under-represented and sometimes unpopular perspectives and views.
Holding true to these ideals as it grew and evolved, the station commemorated its 40th anniversary in 2020 and remains committed to bringing new content to viewers on all platforms, expanding its mission, and deepening its community involvement.
With its long-standing emphasis on independence and innovation, PBS12 will continue to welcome all opinions, voices, ideas and choices as it presents a rich source of content that is unique in Colorado.
