$12,000 Goal

We are excited to share TWO important opportunities for giving this year!

Opportunity 1: Help us fund crucial preventative health and medical services for older residents + visitors

  • Did you know that Kavod Senior Life hosts the only nonprofit, on-campus medical center for residents AND older adults in the metropolitan Denver area?
  • The center, founded in 2016, REMOVES BARRIERS TO ACCESS for older adults to receive services for their aging needs.
    • Rather than visit various locations for care (e.g. dental office, doctor's office), Kavod's center has all services provided in ONE LOCATION.
    • As people get older, it can be difficult for them make appointments and obtain transportation. Often, family members have to leave work to assist, causing tension and hardship. The center allows for minimal to no transportation needs.
    • For residents who use the services, they just need to press a button on an elevator to access services. For community members, free onsite parking and welcoming staff create a positive experience that benefits the client.
    • Services provided in the center include dental care, medical services, podiatry, blood pressure clinics, acupuncture, chiropractic services and more.
  • For GIVES DAY, our goal is to raise $9,300 that to provide:
    • A new, barrier-free exam chair to replace an exam table that is less safe and accessible.
    • Monthly gentle yoga classes (12 total)
    • One month of heart health education and experiential learning (Heart Healthy Kavod)
    • Boxing classes for Parkinson's prevention (quarterly.
  • Desired Exam Chair

Opportunity 2: Support our Kavod on the Road outreach program for older adults in the greater community!

  • Kavod on the Road allows us to offer weekly lectures, concerts and outings to individuals living off campus
  • Programs such as these help combat social isolation and improve mental stimulation, a protective factor against premature onset dementia in older individuals.
  • $5,000 will help us continue delivering these activities at a low cost or free, allowing anyone to attend from any income level
  • In 2025, Kavod on the Road reached 1,600 individuals in the greater Denver area with 50+ programs and an annual aging conference. Around 500 of these individuals attended events regularly!
  • More about Kavod on the Road is here: KOTR Details

Overall, your support contributes to our overall mission that promotes:

- Affordable Housing - Social Isolation Prevention - Optimal Health - Mental Engagement - Care and Contentment

Mission

Kavod Senior Life provides life-enriching experiences to older adults through a broad range of housing and support services that reflect the spiritual, social and cultural values of Jewish tradition.

Kavod Senior Life (kuh-VOAD) has been serving older individuals 62+ for over 50 years with outstanding support services and housing. Our organization is nonsectarian and welcoming of individuals from all faiths and backgrounds.

Our three-building campus in Denver's Cherry Creek has 396 affordable apartments comprised of Independent and Assisted Living options. We also reach older individuals living off campus with our Kavod on the Road life enrichment programming.

Kavod also earned a Great Nonprofits badge for 2021.

Our goals are to ensure that older individuals in our city have access to the support they need to age well, regardless of income level or health status. We are proud to offer the following notable programs as a way to reach these goals and help older citizens age in community:

- an on-site Health and Wellness Center offering services and classes including rehab (PT/OT/speech), dental, podiatry, dental, acupuncture, yoga, boxing, dance, gardening and more;

- a geriatric medical clinic in partnership with CU Medicine;

- an activity calendar with 50+ outings a month, including van trips to the mountains, theater and shopping;

- a "pet welcome" environment

- chaplaincy and spiritual services

- care & resource coordination from on-site social workers

- much, much more!

These features are only possible with the help and support of our donors, large and small. Thanks to Colorado Gives Day donors and other investors, Kavod can ensure that individuals who contributed so much to our society are now able to live out their golden years with contentment, safety and joy.
