Testimonials
A single father of two children, ages 3 and 9, came in holding his utility bills. He had received House of Neighborly Service's information with his shutoff notice and came to see if we could help. He lost a good paying job and the new one he found to replace it does not pay as much, causing them to struggle financially. He said he has gone without food to pay his utility bill. When asked if he would like a food basket, his response was, "Is it free?". We were able to provide food for his family, pay off his utility bills, provide a gas voucher to help him get to work, and resources for food stamps, LEAP, housing assistance and affordable options for childcare.
