House of Neighborly Service (HNS), in Loveland and Berthoud, assists people living in South Larimer County with basic need services: food, clothing, transportation assistance, housing stability, and more. Our goal is to provide help, resources, and hope tp stabilize people in low-income and/or situational crises through direct program services.
Your donation to HNS helps create a kinder, more neighborly community by providing funds for basic needs services to those in need. Together, we can provide stabilization for households and prevent further crises. Help us reach our 2023 goal of $30,000!
Donations of $250 or more to HNS are eligible for the 25% Homeless Contribution Tax Credit upon completion of application.
A single father of two children, ages 3 and 9, came in holding his utility bills. He had received House of Neighborly Service's information with his shutoff notice and came to see if we could help. He lost a good paying job and the new one he found to replace it does not pay as much, causing them to struggle financially. He said he has gone without food to pay his utility bill. When asked if he would like a food basket, his response was, "Is it free?". We were able to provide food for his family, pay off his utility bills, provide a gas voucher to help him get to work, and resources for food stamps, LEAP, housing assistance and affordable options for childcare.
