Our Mountain Community Matters!
Celebrating 15 years as an organization.
Your generosity and support of the organization has allowed us to achieve the following in 2025:
-
Sustainability becomes district-wide priority: A new "Ends" policy has been implemented within the Jeffco School District - adding sustainability as a core value and priority across the district which we helped by giving support to students and parents alike to demand for such change.
-
Local businesses lead the way: 10 businesses were recognized through the Colorado Green Business Network for their commitment to being more sustainable in their day to day operations.
-
Expanding our composting impact: Now 3 businesses and 5 schools have joined us in collecting food waste weekly to be dropped off to our compost collection bin.
-
Community recycling success: A total of 44 cubic yards worth of Christmas Trees were mulched, plus 2 box truck loads worth of Styrofoam were diverted from the landfill which was all recycled instead.
-
Growing our team: We welcomed one new team member, bringing our total to four dedicated staff members—a small but mighty crew driving big change.
-
Reducing single-use waste: Thus far 2,389 containers have been refilled this year, keeping 2,389 single-use containers out of the landfill. As well as grow the Refill Station to be open 2+ days a week!
-
Diverting waste with the community's help: About 6,000 lbs of electronics, 1 full dumpster worth of scrap metal, 1/2 dumpster worth of barbed wire, 2 semi trucks worth of paint and 1 semi truck worth of styrofoam were collected at our annual Spring Clean Recycling event.
- Hosted our 4th Gala in the Gardens!
ESA is working hard to bring your sustainability values to fruition in our community. To realize our shared vision for a healthy, environmentally sound future, meaningful actions are imperative, NOW. We need to work together to affect change, especially in our unincorporated community where there is no local government acting on environmental issues.
Let's make 2026 an even more impactful year because...
the future of our mountain community really does matter!
