Testimonials

I am so glad I found the Evergreen Sustainability Alliance! I've been able to connect with passionate individuals giving their time, resources, and energy to build a sustainable community for themselves and future generations. Never has it been so important to take individual responsibility and action to combat climate change, pollution, and various other issues facing our mountain community and our world. ESA makes a huge impact toward making Evergreen and surrounding areas sustainable!
-Lindsay Anderson

I joined Evergreen Sustainability Alliance because I wanted to connect with other community members interested in reducing their environmental impact and protecting the earth's natural resources. What I found on becoming a member in 2011 was a group of passionate, energetic and visionary citizens dedicated to making a difference at the local level. It has been truly exciting to see ESA's efforts succeed and expand. One of my most gratifying experiences was being part of a Recyclers Appreciation Day at Evergreen's local recycling center. People not only expressed thanks to ESA for initiating the event, but remarked on how important recycling is to them. I believe that through education and outreach, ESA will continue to encourage others to think more about choosing to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Christine is a gardener with Evergreen Park and Recreation District Special Needs Program. As an adult with developmental disabilities, she uses a power chair for mobility. She was in the garden one warm September afternoon with her mother cleaning up the Program's plot for the season. Christine was asked how she enjoyed the time in the garden during summer camp. A huge smile stretched across her face as she labored to enthusiastically report, "Best summer EVER!"

Back when I was too impatient to wait for your process to complete, you held your course and made the garden a reality. Thanks so much for your expertise and focus - we will all benefit.
~Jim Shelton

A HUGE THANK YOU for all your help and hard work with the Community Garden. What a treat is was for our clients to receive freshly grown and nutritious home grown items. Your efforts and your 'green thumb' are greatly appreciated".

Participating in the Evergreen Community Garden has given me an opportunity to contribute to the creation of a great new community of neighbors and friends. You can't imagine how good it feels to work in the garden on a gorgeous sunny day, surrounded by people who share my love of fresh air, delicious organic food, and getting my hands in the earth. We are building something very special here in Evergreen, and I feel blessed to be part of it.
