Early Connections Learning Centers

A nonprofit organization

The mission of Early Connections Learning Centers is to provide high quality, comprehensive early care and education for ALL children.

During this Season of Giving help us provide access to early childhood education to ALL children in Colorado Springs regardless of their family's income.  We know that 90% of a child's brain is development before they enter kindergarten.  We also know that childcare is one of the biggest barriers for families entering the workforce or going back to school. With the average cost in Colorado being over $15,000 and the median household income in El Paso County being $52,286, this means families are paying nearly 30% of their annual income on child a for ONE child!

Funds from Colorado Gives Day will provide scholarships so that every family can afford quality care and education in our community. It provides support to a working family and allows Colorado Springs to prosper!

Background Statement

Established in 1897, Early Connections Learning Centers (Early Connections) is the oldest nonprofit early care and learning organization in Colorado. Serving approximately 440 children each day, ages 6-weeks to 14-years, our classrooms provide year-round support to our community's working families. Early Connections operates four full-day, year-round centers for infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers; half-day, school-year preschool programs; and before/after school and full-day summer programs for school-age children. In addition to our centers, we partner with a network of family child care homes, the Home Network of the Pikes Peak Region, and operate Court Care of the Pikes Peak Region, a free drop-in center at the El Paso County Courthouse.

A commitment to quality is the foundation of our organization. Our centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); a 5 year accreditation, held by only 10% of centers nationally.

Our "whole child" approach to early care and education incorporates a proven curriculum, nutritious meals, behavioral health, and medical care, as we believe ALL children deserve access to the best start in life, regardless of their family's income level..
