Help the immigrant community of the Four Corners region by supporting Compañeros, the only organization in the region dedicated to addressing the specialized needs of immigrants.
"When the pandemic started, both my wife and I lost our jobs and didn't have money to pay for rent or food. We're undocumented, so we weren't eligible for the stimulus checks even though we work hard and pay our taxes. Compañeros started by bringing us food boxes each week, and then helped us apply for and obtain money from other organizations so that we didn't have to give up everything and leave town. Our jobs are back now and we couldn't have done it without Compañeros!"

Compañeros is a grassroots organization dedicated to the mission of empowering immigrants and their families through resource navigation, education and community engagement in order to achieve the vision of a diverse, empowered and liberated community of immigrants thriving in Southwest Colorado.
Compañeros began as a grassroots coalition in 1999 that formed to block the construction of an Immigration Detention Center in La Plata County. Following victory, the coalition formalized into a program of the San Juan Citizens Alliance, a local environmental justice nonprofit, before becoming an independent 501(c)3 organization in 2011. The founders of Compañeros differed in race, ethnicity, language, socioeconomic status, immigration status, and political affiliation but found commonality in their shared values of promoting social justice, equity, and inclusivity for all.
