Christian Living Communities is a mission-driven, Colorado-based, not-for-profit organization enriching older adult lives since 1972. The heart of our communities are the relationships that we build with each other. It's right there in our value that We! Care for Each Other: "We build relationships characterized by compassionate listening, genuine understanding, and unconditional love."
We're asking for your help to give back to the dedicated CLC team members who give so much of themselves every day. Your partnership provides critical needs funding when team members face unexpected hardships, allows them to grow through the scholarship program, and gives the gift of rest and recovery through respite retreats. Because of you, our team members can focus on what matters most - building caring and supportive relationships with the older adults that make our communities home!
Testimonials
We all know how frustrating it can be to work with those with memory loss. Our family is most grateful for the way the staff always treats each resident with compassion and dignity no matter how difficult a resident becomes. The staff never lose their patience but always try a different approach if one is not working, keeping the overall environment peaceful.
We are grateful to have Someren Glen as a wonderful option for those of us families who cannot adequately care for a loved one on our own. Thank you for loving our parents like we do and knowing the "tricks of the trade" to make their later years as happy as possible.
Gratefully,
The daughter of Someren Glen Evergreen resident
From a resident at Clermont Park:
I can’t say enough about the staff, from the executive director to the custodians, all are accommodating and go out of their way to assist. I love people and have worked and/or volunteered all of my life. I have never seen a group where there is no one who might be called a sour apple. They are, one and all, peaches.
Employee Scholarship Spotlight:
Kendra Crites started working at Cappella of Pueblo West, a neighborhood of Christian Living Communities, 10 years ago as a cook. She felt especially connected to residents as she lovingly prepared meals for them. She would get a sense of their personal likes and dislikes and what brought them happiness.
Through her various roles at Cappella of Pueblo West, a constant focus has been her love of residents and striving how to best serve them. Thanks to $5,000 toward tuition that Kendra was awarded from the Employee Scholarship Fund, she has embarked on her nursing career journey with pre-requisite classes at Pueblo Community College.
“Looking to get back in that area of one-on-one resident care is very exciting for me. It’s been a real treat to go back into the classroom, and something I never thought would be available to me. The scholarship has kick started me in the right direction. I’m truly thankful.”
