Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art inspires creativity and fosters community through contemporary art.
Founded in 1972 by a group of local artists, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) has grown into one of Colorado's premier contemporary art venues. Originally called the Boulder Arts Center, the museum was housed in a small Victorian house in downtown Boulder before moving to its current location on 13th St. in Boulder's Civic Area in 1976.
BMoCA annually serves 170,000 people through 20+ exhibitions and over 250 programs presented for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. BMoCA's 7 ongoing educational outreach programs engage youth and adults with creative and contemporary art experiences. The museum's programs focus on ensuring participants gain knowledge about the themes and techniques of contemporary art while appreciating their own unique abilities to create art. These free access programs serve over 16,000 people each year.
