Background Statement
Education: BCNA has offered hundreds of classes and field trips since 1988 taught by top-notch instructors.
Citizen Science: BCNA runs many citizen science research projects: an eco-steward monitoring program, bird banding, Indian Peaks bird counts, wintering raptor surveys. BCNA also works with Boulder County Parks and Open Space to do owl surveys and cliff-nesting raptor surveys.
Publications: BCNA supports the publication and distribution of books and CDs about local ecosystems.
Ecosymposium: The annual, one-day symposium provides an in-depth exploration of important issues impacting Boulder County and beyond.
Research Grants: BCNA offers research funding for projects consistent with our mission, that help inform decision making by local land managers.
Advocacy and Community Engagement: BCNA members track local management plans and projects, identify associated issues, and participate in collaborative decision-making.
Nature-Net: BCNA and Boulder County Audubon Society jointly sponsor and administer this e-mail announcement and discussion group.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
BCNA funds come primarily from member dues, the education program, and donations.
BCNA LEGAL STATUS
BCNA was incorporated in 1982 in the State of Colorado for scientific and educational purposes. BCNA is a non-profit, tax-exempt, corporation under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
Current bylaws were adopted February 23, 2022.
