Safe Bolts, Sustainable Trails, Clean and Sustainable Crags, and COMMUNITY

The BCC is committed to uniting the local community and our partners to preserve the environments we, as climbers, impact, enhancing the outdoor experience for everyone. We wholeheartedly believe that with your support, we can reach extraordinary milestones.

In 2023 we replaced 1,000 bolts; this is more than any other climber organization in the country.

We built sustainable trails: Avalon (Boulder Canyon), Tiers of Zion (Clear Creek), 1st Flatiron (City of Boulder Open Space), and the Dome (Boulder Canyon).

We stocked thousands of wag bags at crags and local gyms to mitigate human waste.

We monitored eagles/raptors in Boulder Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park so climbers could climb.

We were a presence of good stewardship in meetings with land managers and the larger community.

We created opportunities for YOU to be a part of the solution by being of 1200 volunteers doing the work.

We contributed over 8,000 volunteer hours a value of over $200,000.

In previous years we built sustainable trails: Castle Rock Overlook (Boulder Canyon), Cathedral Spires-Cynical Pinnacle (South Platte), Upper Dream Canyon (Boulder Canyon), Royal Arch Trail (City of Boulder Open Space), and much, much more.

In 5 years we have invested over $1.5 million in trail value into the community and replaced over 3000 bolts!

YOUR support makes this happen, donate today.

Testimonials

The Boulder Climbing Community has revolutionized the way recreation groups deal with land managers and other stakeholders. With a clear mission of stewardship, BCC creates win-win partnerships with governmental agencies, local and national businesses, other organizations, and individuals in the community.

“Helping take care of trails and climbing areas gave me a whole new appreciation for the amount of work that goes into it, and it was a new and fulfilling way to give back and connect with nature”

  • Nahed Barakat, BCC Volunteer

“I had an amazing experience being a part of the BCC rebolting training program. Everyone was very professional and I learned a lot. The mix of virtual and hands-on training was spot on. I got to shadow Steve "Crusher" Bartlett on my first rebolting day at Easter Rock. He is a climbing legend and I had such a great time learning from him.”

  • Dan Hunter, Climbing Guide & BCC Volunteer

“I volunteered for the BCC working on a new trail down to Dream Canyon. It was such a cool way to meet the other climbers in the community. I had never realized how strenuous and labor-intensive something so simple as building a trail could be. It made me realize how much we as climbers take for granted. Every beautiful trail, well-kept belay area, and clean route is truly a labor of love!”
