Bicycles for Humanity-Colorado

A nonprofit organization

$16,740 raised by 101 donors

Bicycles for Humanity Colorado has started 10 sustainable bike shops in communities in Namibia, Zambia, and Tanzania. While there are common themes that unite all of these communities, each community is different. We support local groups to help craft solutions that work locally.

Poor transport systems mean poor access to healthcare, education and economic opportunities. Bicycles delivered through community based bike shops provide sustainable mobility solutions for rural Africans.  People can travel 3 times as far, 3 times as fast, and carry 3 times as much vs. being on foot.  To date B4H Colorado has delivered over 17,000 bikes to small communities in Namibia, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania; creating jobs and schools along the way.

Together, we are changing the world two wheels at a time.

Bicycles for Humanity Colorado (B4H) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in Colorado that uses donated bicycles to address a fundamental barrier to development-mobility. Our mission is to empower people through affordable and transformative mobility.

100% of donations go toward our mission. We are 501(c)3 registered non-profit so your donation is fully tax-deductible.

Background Statement

Bicycles for Humanity Colorado is a 501(c)3 that was formed by Josh Pace, Rodd Granger, and Keenan Gates in September of 2007 to begin to form a bridge of community sharing between the front range of Colorado and healthcare workers serving those in need in Africa. We were inspired by the ability to marry personal interests and the desire to help those most marginalized in society.
