Testimonials

Dumile is a young mother in rural Eswatini with 4 children. Their only income comes when her husband is able to get piece jobs here & there to pull some money together. With the school fees, home needs & medical needs of the family, they are often left short of money for food by the end of the month. Dumile has said over and over again how much the community centers feeding her kids has taken a huge burden off of she & her family.

Mduduzi is a 9 year old boy who is the leader of his family as his mom is deaf from TB and his father is out of the country looking for piece jobs. Mduduzi was elated to receive a Siswati Bible to be able to read to his mom (as she reads his lips). As it was given to their family, they bowed down to receive it, saying it was the first book their homestead had ever owned.

After spending time talking and praying with Wetsembekile directors, Nombuso, who is HIV+, proclaimed through tears that "God really knows" as she watched Wetsembekile Ministries give her family 3 weeks of food. She went on to explain that earlier that morning she had been crying out to God, because she didn't have any food in the house & didn't know where she would get anything to feed her 4 kids that day.

Musa is a community leader who was up every day to help dig trenches and work on the piping from the new wells out to the community. He shared how the water has impacted the entire community by providing a place for kids to get water on the way to school, by saving them from having to walk 7km one way to an unreliable water source, by allowing them to have water in the community for their animals, and by allowing them to fetch water and take it home for their gardens at their houses.

Mission

Wetsembekile Ministries comes alongside rural & impoverished communities in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Africa to see churches becoming healthy & taking care of the physical, spiritual & relational needs of their communities.

Background Statement

For over 15 years, Mxolisi & Erica Myeni have been serving impoverished communities in rural Eswatini (fomerly Swaziland). During the horrible drought of 2016, Wetsembekile Ministries had its official beginning as they came alongside people who were already impoverished, unemployed & having the highest HIV rate in the world.

Over the years, Wetsembekile has been busy pouring into the communities...hosting one day Bible events; starting 3 community centers which currently have volunteers cooking & feeding orphaned & vulnerable children 6 days a week with food provided by Wetsembekile; providing clean water within 1km for homesteads through 6 well & water projects; deepening their relationships & evangelism within the community by doing over 300 homestead visits; distributing over 230 Siswati Bibles; coming alongside orphaned & vulnerable children from 4 different homesteads to help them walk through the daily hardships of life growing up without parents; and distributing over 50 audio Bibles in Siswati for illiterate people.
