$200,000 Goal

The Western Institute for Advanced Study supports interdisciplinary research in mathematics, physics, and the biological sciences. The Institute was founded in 2019, and is based in Denver, Colorado.

Mission

The Western Institute for Advanced Study is devoted to supporting scientific research. We focus on addressing long-standing problems that require fresh thinking and new perspectives. The mission and purpose of this organization is to foster highly interdisciplinary efforts to promote scientific progress, for the greater benefit of humanity.

Background Statement

In 2019, the Western Institute for Advanced Study was founded in Denver, Colorado.

In 2022, we completed our first Grand Challenge and presented the results at scientific conferences. During these events, we initiated partnerships with philosophers and scientists to expand our research program. During 2022, we also began external fundraising efforts and raised $50,130 to support our research program.

In 2023, we have two program goals. Our first goal is to build on the success of our first Grand Challenge, by bridging this theoretical work toward systematic evaluation in the laboratory and the clinic. Our second goal is to bring together a diverse array of researchers in a theory development workshop to start tackling our next Grand Challenge.
