$10,000 Goal

At WellFedMinds, we believe that what nourishes us shapes how we feel, connect, and heal.

Too often, mental health and substance use challenges are addressed without looking at one of their root causes: access to nourishing, culturally relevant food and the conditions that surround it. We’re changing that.

We work alongside communities to bring food, culture, and care back into the center of prevention, treatment, and recovery-supporting children, families, and individuals to build resilience and thrive.

Your support helps grow community-driven solutions that strengthen mental health from the ground up.

Mission

The WellFedMinds Mission is to advance integrated nutrition and behavioral health by developing and deploying evidence-based, community-centered tools, training, and resources to improve long-term recovery, treatment engagement, and upstream prevention across the lifespan.

Background Statement

WellFedMinds (WFM) is a women-led public health and systems innovation organization working at the intersection of nutrition, behavioral health, and community wellbeing. Founded by former federal leaders from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), WFM brings together expertise in nutrition policy, behavioral health systems, program evaluation, and cross agency collaboration to address gaps between food and health systems. We partner with behavioral health providers, public health agencies, healthcare systems, schools, and community organizations to translate evidence into practical models that advance nutrition security, strengthen protective factors for youth and families, and support prevention and recovery. Based in Denver, Colorado, WellFedMinds works locally and nationally to help communities implement integrated, prevention-focused approaches to health and wellbeing.
