Funds received by the Foundation are distributed to the schools by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, utilizing a grant process through which teachers or teams of teachers apply to use the funds for a specific project or purpose. As a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization, only a very small percentage of the donated funds goes toward administrative costs.
The Weld RE-4 Education Foundation strives to inspire innovation and empower success in our district students and teachers by:
Providing more of the tools needed to develop Future Ready Skills;
Recognizing excellence and fostering opportunities for continued success; and
Strengthening community engagement with our schools.
The Weld RE-4 Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in April 2013 by a group of passionate community supporters of our schools. Though the Foundation is a separate legal entity from the Weld RE-4 school district, it works in close partnership with the district to provide more of the technology and other tools needed to prepare our students for an ever-changing world. The Foundation strives to foster innovation and collaboration in our classrooms, and in its first five years raised over a million dollars thanks to the efforts of our hard-working volunteers and our very supportive Windsor-Severance community.
