A nonprofit organization

Vindeket is a non-profit food rescue that partners with grocery stores, restaurants and farms to reduce wasted food.
Vindeket is run for the community by the community. To support the mission you can volunteer your time or donate financially.

As we collect stories from the clients we serve and volunteers involved, we're often told that Vindeket feels like a family and that the inclusive culture we foster generates a greater sense of belonging.
Andy from The Matthew's House in Fort Collins expressed that the students he works with are really happy to have fun, delicious, and unique snacks to enjoy during programs.
Hailey, one of our participants says: "Volunteering for Vindeket is so much more than the fulfillment of helping the community or saving the environment through rescuing food. It's belonging to an uplifting and supportive culture. It's family."

To empower each of us to take ownership in the food cycle to restore our earth, our communities, and ourselves.

Background Statement

Vindeket has been operating and serving the Northern Colorado community for over 6 years. We've received support from numerous non-profits, businesses, and other community partners. We are grateful to have a strong and consistent base of volunteers who show up every week and are passionate about rescuing food and serving people. We've seen the numbers of new participants increase steadily over the years. We have rescued just under 5 million pounds of food which has served hundreds of thousands of people!
