Veterans Yoga Project is on a mission to support recovery and resilience among veterans, military families, and communities.
Veterans Yoga Project is a national 501(c)3 on a mission to support recovery and resilience among our veterans, military families, and communities. VYP envisions a future where all those affected by trauma have access to a full range of mind-body practices and programs. VYP is committed to providing these tools and training in Safer, Predictable, and Controlled environments (SPaCe).
Founded in 2011, Veterans Yoga Project is an International Association of Yoga Therapists member school, a National Board for Certified Counselors Approved Continuing Education Provider, and a certified Yoga Alliance School (RYS-200, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). Working in partnership with veterans, active-duty military personnel, student veterans’ organizations, veteran treatment courts, and other non-profit organizations, VYP-trained instructors and clinicians provide programs, resources, connections, and teach over 100 free yoga classes each week.
In the San Diego area, we have teachers who conduct on-line classes, teachers who present in-person classes, and advocates who collaborate with other Veteran and community service providers. Our in-person classes are at Veterans Administration facilities, at mental health clinics, and at a local yoga studio. We are growing our presence in the area.
