Even though basketball is an inexpensive sport to play in terms of equipment costs, many of our athletes struggle to afford the fees to play in our club, despite those fees being among the lowest for any club sport here. These contributions will allow us to provide assistance to more athletes.

Our mission is to improve the quality of basketball played in the Eagle River/Vail Valley for both boys and girls, and across as wide an age range as possible. For players with a true passion for the sport, we seek to help them realize their goal of playing at the collegiate level as well as to prepare them for it.
The Vail Valley Eagles Basketball Club was started over a decade ago by two coaches at Battle Mountain High School as a way to young female basketball players an opportunity to work on their skills outside of their high school season. It expanded to programs for middle school girls, and in 2014 it began to offer a boy's program. By late 2014, the coaches that had started the club were no longer able to continue running it. A group of parents took on the task of keeping it going. It was re-constituted into a 501 c 3 entity. We have successsfully completed 5 spring/summer seasons, but were unable to run our program this past spring summer due to facilities restrictions in place as a result of COVID-19. We are expecting to return to the gym for the spring/summer of 2021, refreshed and ready to have fun with all of the players in our program.
