Uptown Community Health Center

A nonprofit organization

Uptown Community Health Center provides high-quality care for patients in every stage of life - from newborns to aging adults. Every individual and family is welcome, whether they have Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or need assistance with healthcare costs, ensuring no one is turned away, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Uptown's four specialized care teams work together in one central location to see each patient as a whole person, not just a chart. In 2025, Uptown reached 10,831 patients through 44,400 visits.

As of March 1, 2025, Uptown is designated as Denver's newest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike. FQHC is a designation for outpatient clinics that provide primary care services in underserved areas. As a FQHC Look-Alike, Uptown is held to higher standards for quality and accountability than many other healthcare organizations, with well-trained providers committed to delivering the very best care to every patient, at every visit. Through rigorous standards and a wide range of services including whole-family primary care, geriatric/elder care, women's health and midwifery, chronic condition management, pediatrics, preventive care, and integrated behavioral health, Uptown Community Health Center ensures each patient receives the best care possible - now and for generations to come.

Mission

Rooted in the tradition of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, Uptown Community Health Center reveals and fosters God's healing love by improving the health of our community and providing care that respects the dignity of each person. We teach tomorrow's physicians and healthcare professionals to provide excellent medical care with compassion and kindness.

Background Statement

On January 12, 2022, three clinics—Bruner Family Medicine, Caritas Internal Medicine, and Seton Women’s Center—came together to form Uptown Community Health Center. These clinics were once part of Saint Joseph Hospital, Colorado’s oldest teaching hospital, and were home base sites for its Graduate Medical Education programs. Our providers began seeing patients on November 15, 2022. Uptown Midwifery Center became the fourth clinic in the Uptown family in January 2026.

We became a stand-alone nonprofit organization so we could serve our patients as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike. This change allows us to focus on our mission: providing high-quality care to everyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Although we are now independent, we maintain a close relationship with Saint Joseph Hospital, and our resident providers continue to be trained under the guidance of its physicians.
