Mission

TruNorth Foundation, the dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of TruNorth Institute, empowers community-centered initiatives through holistic healing, leadership development, and strategic philanthropy. We are committed to creating lasting, transformative change by uplifting Afro-Indigenous and People-of-Culture—individuals who reconnect with their ancestral roots and transcend the social construct of race.

Through a blend of accessible and culturally grounded programs and services, we foster self-empowerment, disrupt systems of oppression, and promote cultural reconnection. Together, we are building new pathways for equity, economic empowerment, and collective healing to drive a more just and inclusive future.

Background Statement

TruNorth Foundation was established as the nonprofit arm of TruNorth Institute to address the deep, systemic inequities faced by Afro-Indigenous and People-of-Culture communities. The name "TruNorth" symbolizes aligning with one's true purpose and navigating life based on an internal compass, guided by personal and cultural values rather than external influences. It reflects the Foundation’s commitment to empowering communities to find their authentic direction and build pathways toward equity, resilience, and holistic well-being.

Born out of a commitment to providing culturally grounded care and holistic solutions, TruNorth Foundation seeks to bridge the gap between traditional Western systems and ancestral healing practices. Our work is informed by years of experience in community advocacy, leadership development, and economic empowerment. We are dedicated to creating sustainable models for personal and community growth, supporting a diverse range of programs that include human development coaching, wellness retreats, and strategic philanthropic initiatives. By focusing on the root causes of inequality, TruNorth Foundation aims to foster long-term change, creating pathways for self-empowerment and economic resilience. Through our collaborations with TruNorth Institute and other partners, we continue to drive forward a vision of collective healing and systemic transformation.
