Travis House and Love Life are faith-based recovery homes in Steamboat Springs where men and women reclaim and rebuild their lives, finding hope, healing, and purpose. Through Christ-centered guidance and community, practical life skills, and compassionate, unwavering support, residents overcome addiction, rediscover their God-given potential and rebuild their futures. Every gift helps provide a safe, nurturing home where transformation begins—one life at a time.
Addiction is a disease of isolation, and our program is built to end that isolation. Through a therapeutic community model, spiritual growth, and biblical participation, residents find connection and purpose. We equip them with the tools to build honesty, integrity, and respect—for themselves and others—while developing the life and vocational skills needed to create a strong work ethic and a renewed desire to improve their lives and their communities.
In 2016, Jeff Welton faced every parent’s greatest heartbreak—losing his son, Travis, to an accidental overdose. Out of unimaginable loss, God planted a vision in Jeff’s heart: to help others find freedom from addiction and a renewed sense of purpose.
With just $8,000 raised through a GoFundMe campaign, Jeff joined with Dwayne Wallace and Bonnie Thompson, who all worked for a full year pro bono to bring that vision to life. In May 2021, Travis House opened its doors—a faith-based sober living home where men could rebuild their lives through community, accountability, and grace. By January 2022, the home expanded to a larger four-bedroom house, now serving five men at a time.
On November 1, 2023, the vision grew with the opening of Love Life, a women’s sober living home also located in Steamboat Springs. Chynna Wallace, a graduate of the Come As You Are (CAYA) residential treatment program, felt called by God to continue the mission when CAYA closed and transitioned to New Mexico. She partnered with Janelle Crain, another CAYA participant who completed her recovery journey with the support of Pastor Becky Sharp at Euzoa Bible Church and earned her Peer Recovery Specialist Coaching Certificate. When Chynna shared her vision for Love Life, Janelle immediately joined the mission to help other women find the same peace and purpose she had discovered.
Together, Travis House and Love Life are turning pain into purpose and loss into legacy—creating safe, faith-filled homes where men and women can heal, rebuild, and rise into the lives God intended for them.
The mission of the Travis House and Love Life is to free men and women from the bonds of addiction. Residents develop a biblical foundation and learn recovery tools to live a healthy and productive life. We believe that having a relationship with Jesus Christ will lead to healing and recovery.
