$2,000 Goal

TinkerMill is the largest member-supported MakerSpace in the Rocky Mountain region, and a hub for technology and advanced prototype manufacturing. TinkerMill plays a unique role for collaboration, education, and business development for early stage advanced technology companies. Our 13 shops and studio spaces provide the tools and training to address the interests and needs of students, local entrepreneurs, and enterprising community members.

It is no exaggeration to state that almost every day of the year TinkerMill holds educational and developmental events in areas such as welding, machining, advanced digital 3D printing and prototyping, computer science, and more that support emerging Advanced Industry business entrepreneurs and STEM students in product and service development. TinkerMill partners with local organizations to promote economic development and support community growth through numerous public projects.

Named non-profit of the year by Longmont Chamber of Commerce (2024), our maker members collaborate on creative projects, share tools, learn, teach, prototype new ideas, products and services, start ventures, meet new people and share knowledge.

Giving Activity

Mission

We are a volunteer-driven organization that provides space, equipment, and community, empowering people on the Front Range to make, learn, and grow.

Background Statement

TinkerMill started in 2013 as a Tuesday night MeetUp in someone’s garage, to share resources such as printers and software. The weekly MeetUp gained enough interest that the founding 24 members decided to form a non-profit. Their vision was to create a space where art, technology, tools, teaching, and collaboration could come together into a true creative community.

Over the years, we have seen tremendous growth and change. After setting up a few 3D printers at the Creation Station in downtown Longmont, we rented out shop space at the old mall, until eventually landing in our current location. We leased out one room at first, and finally purchased the building in the 2016. Over the years, many people have donated time and to create what has become TinkerMill MakerSpace.
