The Pines Ranch

A nonprofit organization

The Pines Ranch is a sanctuary away from modern life that offers respite specifically to those employed in helping professions to aid restoration of body, mind, and spirit. The generosity of donors and volunteers enabled the ranch to host 248 nurses, CNAs, and their families in 2020 & 2021.

Mission

The Historic Pines Ranch Preservation Association (DBA The Pines Ranch) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, established in 2017. The mission and purpose is to conserve and cultivate the 130-year history of The Pines Ranch: to maintaining its integrity by safeguarding its environment, by keeping the ranch property intact, and by using the property for its historic purpose of rest and healing.

Background Statement

Our family originally formed the Historic Pines Ranch Preservation Association in 2017 because we fell in love with the Pines Ranch, the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and the nearby town of Westcliffe, Colorado. It was formed as a 501© 3 to help preserve, protect and share this historic property which has been privately owned since 1882

The Pines Ranch is a partnership between private landowners and the non-profit Historic Pines Ranch Preservation Association. Three generations of extended family care for this amazing guest ranch property, hosting respite retreats for those working in frontline service professions (nurses, teachers, first responders, law enforcement, active-duty military/veterans, foster/adoptive families). Our desire is to help those who serve our communities find restoration for their bodies, minds, and spirits by offering a quiet sanctuary in the Colorado mountains.
