Will you help us reach our goal of $10,000?
As a nonprofit organization, The Kiva Center deeply values the philanthropic support of the community. Together we can nurture the next generation of leaders. Your donation will support these mission-critical initiatives:
The impact of your donation will be forever etched on the hearts and souls of the children of The Kiva Center. Your gift is what allows us to reach more children and keep our center operational. Thank you for your support.
A nurturing, soulful, and fun place for children to spend their days. A well-balanced program for both the inner and outer lives of little ones while offering opportunities for parents to connect.
This is one of the most powerful, authentic, enriching programs and communities we have found after years of research, trial and error! Thank you so much.
The leaders do an amazing job of planning and reaching out to families each week, which enables us to connect more at home around the topics they are exploring at Kiva. They are also amazingly adept at working with a diverse set of children. We are looking forward to continuing this program again.
Thank you for coming to teach our class about compost. The compost tea looked weird but cool under the microscopes. The worms enjoy their new home. I learned a whole lot when you came to teach. The little play you put on was funny.
P.S. Sammy will keep composting so you don't have to worry.
What was impactful was the knowledge, care, and leadership of the staff. The land was also beautiful and medicine for the soul.
The Kiva Center builds confidence and self-esteem in youth through nature connection through homeschool enrichment, family programs, and professional development. Our approach is to provide transformational educational experiences and a place of community and belonging for diverse learners.
The mission of The Kiva Center is to guide children to become creative ecological stewards equipped to lead their communities towards a balanced relationship with the Earth.
The Kiva Center began with a vision…
A vision to provide children with learning experiences where they feel at home within their community, revel in the wonders of the outdoors, and be recognized for the unique gifts they carry.
The Kiva Center spontaneously launched with a request...when families in the Boulder community asked the founders to host a backyard outdoor day camp in August 2014, we began to see an opportunity for growth.
And it continued with heartfelt enthusiasm…
"Well, are you going to continue?" asked a parent of three students on the last day of camp. "I want to send my kids here throughout the entire school year to get them outdoors and off the couch and screens."
Twelve years later, The Kiva Center provides immersive outdoor experiences focused on experiential learning, socio-emotional wellbeing, and creating community.
We offer wilderness-based homeschool enrichment, afterschool, summer skills programs for children ages 5-18, as well as community and professional development programs.
The Kiva Center programs are structured to offer today's youth hope, connection, and community through a connection with the natural world and all the healing that comes with this connection. We provide a safer space to practice using their voices and standing up for what matters to them, empowering the next generation of leaders.
