We are a foster based organization that rescues dogs from high kill shelters. We vet them, rehabilitate them if needed, and love them before helping find their perfect homes. We have formed many shelter, rescue and transport partnerships and function as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.

Testimonials

Since we started, we have saved over 1650 dogs from high kill shelters, have financially assisted in getting shelter dogs back to their original owners, have provided spay/neuter services for those financial unable to cover them, and have started co-hosting low cost spay/neuter clinics in impoverished and rural areas in Colorado and  New Mexico. We recently started a free training program for our adopters and fosters to help keep animals in their homes and strengthen the human-animal bond.

Mission

The Good Dog Rescues mission is to reduce companion animal homelessness through establishing a network within rescues and shelters;adopting and rehoming animals, supporting the community to keep pets in their homes; reducing the number of unwanted animals with aggressive spay/neuter services; and strengthening the human- animal bond through education & outreach programs.

Background Statement

The Good Dog Rescue was founded in January of 2017 by six friends who wanted to make a difference. All have several years of rescue experience and all have different strengths to bring to the table. We have many wonderful partnerships and work together for the good of the animals and the communities who love them.
