Testimonials

"I have been involved with the Challenge Foundation for almost ten years as a donor, board member and mentor. I believe in this foundation because it is the only program of its kind that surrounds the student with the necessary support (a world class education, on site case managers, mentors, a summer program in middle school, tutors, and more) to ensure that the student's success throughout their elementary, secondary, college education and beyond. The child who is accepted into the Challenge Foundation is changed forever and will give back to not only their own families, but the communities in which they live." - CF Board Member

"The Challenge Foundation has opened many doors and given me an infinite number of opportunities that today have made me a better individual. My passion for education and helping others has never been greater. It is foundations like this that truly motivate future generations to accomplish their goals and live out their dreams."
- Challenge Foundation Alumna

"The Challenge Foundation provides its students with the opportunity to engage in an environment of culture, giving, and intellect. Thanks to this particular kind of environment, there also exists a two-way road - one that allows its students to both give and receive. The Challenge Foundation has given me the tools to thrive and grow as a student, leader, and individual." - Current Challenge Scholar

We equip Challenge Scholars with tools and resources to navigate obstacles and chart their own futures, providing holistic support and advocacy to them and their families.

Background Statement

Challenge Foundation was founded in 1998 by Don McFall. The organization provides scholarships and support services to high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds to attend independent college preparatory schools in the metro area. Students attend one of our 6 partner schools (St. Mary's Academy, Colorado Academy, St. Anne's Episcopal, Kent Denver, Graland Country Day, and Regis Jesuit) from 6th grade through high school. Following high school, Challenge provides scholarships and support for students through college graduation at a college or university of their choosing. Support for students throughout the program include mentoring, advising, tutoring, mental health support, transportation and a summer program among others services.

To date, Challenge Foundation Denver has served more than 260 scholars. We currently have 71 students in 6th - 12th grade and an additional 35 in college.
