The Fort Recovery (TFR) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, accessible, and dependable place for people in recovery. Located in Fort Collins, Colorado, we serve as a community clubhouse where anyone can come together, attend recovery meetings, build relationships, find fellowship, and strengthen their recovery one day at a time.

The transition from addiction to recovery can involve rebuilding relationships and finding supportive communities. People need places where they can return, connect with others, talk with someone who understands, and know that they are welcome and The Fort Recovery exists to provide that safe place.

Our clubhouse offers space for a wide range of recovery meetings, gatherings, and fellowship activities, including meetings associated with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Al-Anon, and other recovery communities.

TFR is independent and not affiliated with, governed by, or a representative of any particular recovery fellowship. Instead, our role is to provide the physical space and community environment that allows recovery groups to meet and individuals to connect.

This distinction is important because our role is not to replace the work of individual recovery fellowships, sponsors, treatment providers, counselors, or other community organizations. Our clubhouse helps create the environment in which those recovery resources can be accessed and relationships can develop.

Whether someone is attending their first meeting, returning to recovery after a difficult period, meeting with a sponsor, supporting a family member, or simply looking for a community where they feel understood, TFR offers a place to walk through the door. It’s a place where people can begin, continue, and strengthen their connection to recovery.

Many recovery meetings and support groups rely on borrowed rooms, rented facilities, churches, community centers, or other spaces that may have limited availability or restrictions on when and how they can be used. Our dedicated recovery clubhouse creates continuity, familiarity, and a place people recognize as their own. It reminds people that recovery is not a lonely journey.

TFR provides a consistent environment where recovery communities can gather throughout the week. The clubhouse includes meeting and gathering areas designed to accommodate different types of recovery activities, along with spaces that encourage fellowship and connection.

The physical environment is intentionally designed to support both meetings and the informal fellowship that surrounds them. The clubhouse includes a large meeting space, private meeting space, children's space, kitchen, library, and common areas where people can gather before or after meetings.

These spaces matter because some of the most meaningful moments in recovery happen outside the formal meeting itself, like…

-A conversation in the kitchen.

-A cup of coffee with someone who understands.

-A newcomer being greeted at the door.

-A family member realizing they are not alone.

-A person who has been struggling finding the courage to come back the next day.

These ordinary interactions can become important parts of a person's recovery community. TFR provides the physical setting for those relationships to develop.
