The Double Helix Doula Project Inc

The Double Helix Doula Project is an innovative program which allows any woman in labor who walks into the hospital access to a doula. Women of all ages and backgrounds will be trained as doulas and work in shifts. They will compensated well for their work for women should be paid for what they do. The project also trains women to be doulas back in their community, such as women in recovery to be doulas for women with substance use issues, teen moms to be doulas for other teens, and Latina women to be doulas for immigrants. Women will also be certified to be "child care doulas" and be available to support and care for the children of the women working as doulas.
