The Berakah

A nonprofit organization

$75 raised by 2 donors

The Berakah is on mission to provide respite for adults that are employed in occupations that tend toward high rates of burnout such as clergy, missionaries, social workers, caregivers as well as others in the nonprofit sector.

The Berakah has a unique opportunity to create a ‘safe space’ for rest, renewal, and reflection. Many other retreats offer a rigid schedule that the guest must adhere to, and others retreats just offer lodging. The Berakah offers a minimal schedule with the understanding that it is the guest’s choice to participate. The focus will be on quiet and reflection.

The Berakah offers a small cabin equipped with everything a guest may need for their stay. Food options are available upon request.

The main objective of The Berakah is that each guest would leave with a sense of direction, hope and peace that they can incorporate into their busy lives. Any success indicators would be that each guest would be able to create a more balanced family life.

Mission

The Berakah exists to bring peace, rest and blessings to those who are weary

Background Statement

The Berakah was born from a dream to create a place where peace, healing and restoration could be realized in the context of spiritual focus and human connection.

The Berakah is located within a 15 minute drive from Estes Park, Colorado, and surrounded by the Rocky Mountain National Park. The opportunity to get lost in nature is not only possible but encouraged!

The Berakah is by invitation only and is free to those who have been referred to by pastors, supervisors, co-workers, friends and/or family members. It offers a respite for those who are weary of serving others and are in danger of burnout.

There are 2 guest cabins (tiny homes) and 1 caretaker cabin. There is a garden, a labyrinth of reflection, and community firepit. Each day starts with an invitation to a casual breakfast at the caretaker cabin. Later in the evening, dinner is available with the caretakers, and another invitation to the firepit. This is a sacred safe space to talk and be heard. Participation is completely voluntary. Each participant is free to come and go as they please.

The Berakah is a place of solitude away from the traffic of life, surrounded by the beauty of the Colorado wilderness.

Our goal is to be a blessing and give hope to our guests.
