Mission

Teach For America Colorado finds, develops, and supports a diverse network of leaders who expand opportunity for children from classrooms, schools, and every sector and field that shapes the broader systems in which schools operate.

Background Statement

TFA Colorado works to build a sustainable pipeline of excellent teachers for Title I schools who are coached to lead their classrooms with a student-centered approach. TFA Colorado was formed in 2007 to address talent shortages of both teachers and school leaders in districts serving majority students of color and families from low-income backgrounds. Since 2007, we have expanded from Denver to Aurora, Colorado Springs and Pueblo, placing more than 1,800 new, highly-trained teachers who believe in every student's highest potential.

In 2025, TFA Colorado launched the Ignite Tutoring Fellowship in Denver and Colorado Springs with 60 tutors delivering 4,000 hours of virtual, small-group tutoring for students who need it most. Together, TFA corps members, alumni, and Ignite Fellows reach over 56,000 Colorado students daily, fostering the learning conditions that prepare every student to learn, lead and thrive.
