Telluride Science celebrated two exciting milestones in July 2024-the 40th Anniversary of the organization and the grand opening of the Telluride Science & Innovation Center, the new permanent home for the organization.
The center is a hub for accelerating the advancement of science and technology, a force multiplier for scientific productivity, and a vibrant community space to gather and share information and inspiration.
While we have successfully reached 82% of our capital campaign goal, we still have $2.3M left to raise. The urgency to meet this fundraising target cannot be overstated; the sooner we achieve it, the more we can minimize costs on our borrowed capital.
During Colorado Gives, we are striving to raise $50,000 to put towards the capital campaign. We invite you to help us get one step closer to crossing the finish line.
Our purpose is to advance scientific knowledge and bring together global thought leaders to solve societal and planetary challenges. Annually, we host 50+ workshops across the fields of biomedical science, energy, material science, climate, quantum computing, and fundamental science. Scientists, including Nobel Laureates, represent 400+ institutions annually.
Though Telluride Science was established in 1984, it never had a permanent home and operated primarily out of the Telluride middle school during the summer months.
A permanent facility was a dream of Telluride Science for many years. That vision turned into a reality when a group of generous donors enabled the organization to purchase the historic Depot in October 2020 to transform the iconic building into the Innovation Center. Renovations started in December 2022 and concluded in just 18 months with a grand opening in July 2024. The project was on time and budget.
The Center now serves as a permanent year-round home for Telluride Science and is once again a hub of important exchange. Where once precious minerals were shipped out from the beautiful Telluride box canyon, we continue to export ideas that will change the world.
