TeachUNITED

A nonprofit organization

A QUALITY EDUCATION CAN CHANGE A STUDENT’S LIFE.

By supporting TeachUNITED, you can help ensure that educators in small and rural communities gain the skills needed to develop students to their full potential and break cycles of poverty—giving rural kids a path to better jobs and brighter futures.

LET’S WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE THAT CHANGE HAPPEN!

More than half of the world’s children lack basic math and literacy skills. When students develop strong foundational skills they are more likely to thrive as they progress through school and join the workforce. Yet, school systems in small and rural communities are faced with challenges such as geographic isolation, limited resources, and staff shortages that affect a teacher’s ability to meet the individual needs of students. Education disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have magnified inequalities and widened the achievement gap for many students in these communities.

Are you ready to create lasting change with us? When you support TeachUNITED, you are creating a ripple effect that spreads positive change in small and rural communities all over the world.

With an opportunity to increase academic outcomes for kids and increase teacher efficacy and engagement, we believe it is our responsibility (not just our vision) to bring TeachUNITED programs to as many schools as possible around the world.

Since 2016, we've reached 920,000+ students and teachers combined across 1,856 schools in nine countries.

We are operating in the following countries:

- Costa Rica

- Guatemala

- Mexico

- Nicaragua

- Peru

- Rwanda

- Tanzania

- Uganda

- United States

WHY TEACHERS?

Teacher quality is the single biggest school-related factor impacting student success. Teacher effectiveness impacts academic achievement, persistence in school, and the long-term well-being of children, and even influences income once young people enter the labor markets.

Mission

TeachUNITED is on a mission to coach and empower educators with the skills needed to improve student outcomes and develop each student’s full potential.

Background Statement

TeachUNITED is improving educational quality for students globally by investing in one of the most powerful levers for societal change, teachers. We provide teachers in rural and underserved communities access to supportive coaching, skill-building professional development, and researched-based strategies to close learning gaps. By building capacity, not dependency, TeachUNITED empowers rural and underserved communities to close the equity gap and sustain educational improvements.
