T.H.E.'s primary mission is public safety and no more victims. This can only occur when individuals convicted of sexual offenses can effectively manage themselves in the community. Choosing to give to T.H.E. provides money for training and keeps salaries competitive to acquire and retain staff.
Testimonials
After my offense, I felt cut off from friends and alone. The treatment community at Teaching Humane Existence provided me with the support that I needed to succeed in Treatment.

I am a different man than I was seven years ago. I did the work at Teaching Humane Existence and the rewards were life changing. I love myself, I love life and I have good friends. They have a fantastic staff, great curriculum and the Peer Community enabled me to thrive.

I came to THE in 2012 following an arrest for distribution of child pornography. When I arrived at the agency I was in a hopeless and angry state. I spent the first year of my treatment trying to avoid everything about my life and what I had done. There was a strong possibility that I would go to prison as I seemed unable to be honest about my behavior or my disregard for the emotions or safety of other people.
Yet with the help of several therapists, most notably Kimberly Kline, I was able to begin to recover. It has been a long road between a termination contract and where I am today. In March of 2021 I was granted release from probation nearly 18 months early. Much of this is thanks to the group of remarkable people at this agency. Though ultimately I saw through the changes in myself, the staff and other clients at THE deserve a great deal of credit for their guidance and support. I cannot thank them enough.
