Tana Yelpa Foundation was created to support the teachings and aspirations of Tana Dungsey Rinpoche to benefit all students of the Buddhadharma. Rinpoche was born in 1977 into the living tradition of the Yelpa Kagyu lineage as the son of the previous lineage holder, Tana Tulku Rinpoche. Trained by his father, as well as His Eminence Tai Situ, HH 16th Karmapa, Penor Rinpoche, and many others. Through weekend retreats, monthly zoom sangha teachings, classes, one-on-one audiences, he trains interested meditators to pacify their inner obstacles, know the nature of their own minds, grow innate compassion, and to learn to be the peace we all want for our troubled world. He is the Spiritual Guide for the 80 monks residing at the Tana Monastery, Kollegal, India; they receive training in Buddhist practices and a modern education. Additionally, Rinpoche has large student sanghas in Colorado, New York, Malaysia as well as many students from all over the world who attend virtually. The Foundation is located in a rented space for teachings and is seeking funds to acquire and build a permanent practice location for teachings and community. Additionally, we seek to support the monks who are working to preserve and protect the teachings of Tana Rinpoche and in doing so, the lineage of the Yelpa Kagyu itself.
