$20,000 Goal

5 Years of Tame Wellness: A Story of Community, Sobriety, and Showing Up When It Matters MostOur $20,000 Anniversary CampaignFive years ago, Tame Wellness started with one simple idea:no one in Grand County should have to face addiction, mental health struggles, or early recovery alone. In 2020, we weren’t an organization yet—we were just a small group of people trying to stay sober, stay connected, and stay alive in a community where almost everything revolved around alcohol. The options were limited. If you wanted to be social, you met at a bar. If you wanted connection, you had to be comfortable being surrounded by drinking. And if you were newly sober… you stayed home.We knew Grand County needed something different. So we began offering the thing we never had:a safe, sober place to hike, kayak, cook, craft, eat, learn, talk, and simply belong. No judgment. No pressure. No shame.Just community. What started as a handful of gatherings turned into a movement. In five years, Tame Wellness has:

  • Held over 550 free sober events
  • Provided mental health support and sober events for over 2,470 people
  • Created a mobile mocktail bar bringing sober inclusion to community festivals
  • Distributed over 300 Narcan nasal sprays, 500 fentanyl test patches, and 200 care kits to community members.
  • Hosted full moon snowshoe adventures, fishing adventures, camping adventures yoga, AA meetups, potlucks, sound healing, hiking, art nights, self care nights, kayaking adventures, sober ski days and so much more.
  • Become a recognized, trusted organization featured in newspapers, magazines, and documentaries.
  • We have won Best Mental Health Care in Grand County in 2023, 2024 and 2025

And all of this has been done by an unpaid team, powered by volunteers, passion, and sheer determination to make Grand County safer, healthier, and more connected. Now, as we enter our 5th anniversary, we’re ready for the next level. Our Goal: Raise $20,000 to Sustain and Expand Tame Wellness in 2026This milestone fund will support:

  • Paying staff so we can keep up with the growing demand for support, events, outreach, and crisis response
  • Maintaining and expanding our mental health and recovery services.
  • Expanding sober events into Kremmling and West Grand, where resources are extremely limited
  • Ensuring every event remains free and accessible to anyone who needs support
  • Replenish our Harm Reductions supply stock so we can keep distributing much needed kits to the community.
  • Sustain our mocktail bar so we can keep providing a healthy alternative to alcohol at community events.

When you donate to Tame Wellness, you’re not giving to a big organization. You’re giving directly to your neighbors. Your coworkers. Your family members. Your friends. And the strangers who quietly needed support but didn’t know where else to turn.Every dollar helps us keep showing up—on the trail, on the lake, around the firepit, in the library, at community events, and in the lives of the people who need connection the most.Help us celebrate 5 years by ensuring we can serve Grand County for many more.Donate today.Share our story.Help us raise $20,000 to keep this community safe, sober, connected, and alive.Thank you for helping build the Tame Wellness movement. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Giving Activity

Mission

At Tame, our mission is to provide a more connective approach to tackling difficult subjects, beyond traditional talk therapy. We support and offer opportunities for our community, including anyone seeking wellness, connection, and fun, individuals facing addiction/dependence, and those dealing with mental health issues. Through donation-based activities and events, we address all 8 Dimensions of Wellness with compassion and connection, not shame and guilt.

Our offerings include art nights, talk groups, a free library, full moon adventures, hikes, disc golf trips, bowling nights, self-care nights, hot spring trips, educational classes, one-on-ones with our executive director, workout buddies, game nights, yoga nidra, breathwork, and meditation nights – all sober activities.

Background Statement

Tame Wellness was founded in 2021 in response to a critical gap in Grand County: there were limited sober social spaces, few peer-led recovery options, and almost no free, community-based mental health support. Many residents struggling with addiction or mental health challenges felt isolated, unseen, and unsure where to turn.

What started as one person in early recovery trying to build connection has grown — through five years of unpaid volunteer leadership — into one of the most active grassroots wellness organizations in the county. Today, Tame Wellness provides free sober events, one-on-one support, crisis navigation, harm reduction outreach, and sober challenges that help individuals rebuild their lives and reconnect with their community.

Our model is simple but powerful: meet people where they’re at, offer judgment-free support, and create opportunities for people to experience joy, connection, and healing without drugs or alcohol. Every program is designed around the belief that recovery isn’t about restriction — it’s about thriving.

Now entering our fifth year, Tame Wellness is ready to take the next step by securing stable funding to sustain and expand the free services our community relies on.
