Sunshine Community is a Grand Junction–based nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome barriers to stability, housing, employment, and community connection.
We specialize in practical, hands-on support that helps people navigate complex systems and access the resources they need to move forward. Whether someone needs transportation to an appointment, help obtaining identification documents, assistance applying for benefits, housing navigation, employment support, computer access, or help understanding paperwork, our team works alongside them every step of the way.
Our mission is to help individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability overcome barriers to stability through personalized guidance, administrative support, resource navigation, advocacy, accountability, and community collaboration to increase access to housing and long-term self-sufficiency.
Many individuals and families in Mesa County face barriers that prevent them from accessing housing, employment, healthcare, and other essential services. Transportation challenges, limited access to technology, lack of identification documents, and difficulty navigating complex systems can make it difficult for people to achieve stability and independence. Sunshine Community was created to help bridge these gaps by connecting community members with practical resources, personalized support, and community partnerships that remove barriers and create pathways to opportunity.
