$5,000 Goal

SummerHome Garden is a public pocket park located in Washington Park, open to everyone on a daily basis from May 1 through November 1.  The garden highlights drought tolerant plant species that help address climate change and provides a much needed respite and oasis in a dense urban environment.  1,000s of adults, children and dogs stroll through SHG during the growing season enjoying fountains, sculptures, private seating areas, and a crevice garden loaded with cactus.  The founder bought the dilapidated house next store, tore it down and planted this garden for all to enjoy.  The expenses of SHG are minimal because most of the maintenance and care of the garden is accomplished with the help of many devoted volunteers.  This garden needs to be saved for future generations and every donation helps with upkeep and building an endowment.

Mission

Create and maintain a public garden in an urban setting, that addresses climate change, uses drought tolerant plants, and preserves much needed open space for future generations.
