Staging Her is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 99-0784240) dedicated to empowering young women from developing countries through the transformative art of circus performance. We believe that offering women the opportunity to train, create, and perform can spark personal growth, fuel cultural exchange, and build leadership capacity that extends far beyond the stage.
Our Mission & VisionWe envision a world where these women return to their communities not just as performers, but as catalysts for change — inspiring others through their stories, creativity, and resilience.
What We Do
We bring talented women from places like Palestine, Lebanon, Senegal, Zambia, Rwanda, and Ethiopia to the U.S. for an immersive two-month program combining circus arts training and performance.
The first month is focused on rigorous training and rehearsal; the second month is a performance tour across Colorado.
We partner with international circus organizations (e.g. Palestinian Circus School, Cirquenciel in Lebanon, Sencirk in Senegal, Arba Minch Circus in Ethiopia) to identify artists and provide ongoing support.
Why Your Support Matters
Each participant’s full journey (travel, visas, housing, training, performance) costs approximately $10,000.
Donations help us expand access, deepen training, and amplify the impact of each woman’s return to her community.
Your gift becomes part of a ripple: not just supporting an individual artist, but investing in cultural voice, gender equity, and creative leadership for the next generation.
Impact
We help dismantle the barriers that women in underrepresented communities face by elevating their talent and—through performance and visibility—challenging stereotypes.
Our participants return not only with artistic skills, but as agents of possibility: storytellers, educators, and leaders in their home communities.
Over time, we aim to create sustainable networks of artists, mentorship, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Call to ActionJoin us in bringing dreams to the stage. On Colorado Gives Day (and year-round), your donation to Staging Her empowers women to lift their voices, build bridges between worlds, and leave legacies of change through art and connection.
