Any current or former member of the St. Andrew Society of Colorado may bring before the Council a topic for consideration, appeal of a decision, action or activity of the Society. Such appeal shall be duly accepted, considered and a response given by the Council, and on behalf of the Society.

Mission

The Society exists to accomplish the following objectives: (A)Provide a Society for all persons of Scottish descent, their kin, and all others with an interest in Scotland, to which they may belong and with which they may be associated. (B)Provide a means of contact by which all resident Scots, visiting Scots, or persons connected with other Scottish associations may obtain hospitality and/or assistance. (C)Provide a vehicle by which to pursue the furtherance and promotion of Scottish culture, traditions, history, literature, arts and customs of sport, dress and the like. (D)Provide a specific body and organization for the purpose of suitably commemorating and celebrating St.Andrew's Day (November 30) and Burns Day (January 25), which are the principal, traditional functions for all Scots and Scottish Associations. (E)Provide means for the support of Scottish and/or related charities and provide assistance to needy Scots and those of Scottish descent. (F) Provide a medium for organized, traditional and innovative highland games

Background Statement

The St. Andrew Society of Colorado began in Denver in 1963. The Society exists to provide all persons with an interest in Scotland the opportunity to pursue their interest in Scottish culture, traditions, and history. The Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

The St. Andrew Society of Colorado (SASC) supports the Scottish heritage throughout Colorado. SASC has given scholarships to highland dancers, bagpipers and drummers to attend workshops and competitions throughout the U.S. and abroad. SASC also supports and supplies funds for other groups that support the Scottish heritage in Colorado.
